Better Travel Photography was created by Steve Davey to celebrate the art of travel photography and to help people improve their travel photography skills and get more out of their travels. Some of the highlights of the site are image galleries, travel photography features and 501 Travel Photography Tips. This site also features Steve's exclusive range of travel photography tours.
The photo tour you are looking for is currently not scheduled. Steve Davey is a professional photographer and writer and so only leads three or four tours a year to balance with his professional and family life. You can see some images from the last time that this tour ran below. At the moment we have three tours available, but are busy working on more itineraries:
Impressions of Morocco 2019
We have probably had more tours to Morocco than any other destination, and it is one of my favourite countries in the World. Not only is is it incredibly photogenic, it is also very close to Europe! We have arranged this tour to be shorter and cheaper than many of our recent offerings, but it will still visit a wealth of exciting places: exotic Marrakech, relaxed coastal Essaouria, the remote Toubkal Mountains, historic Ait Benhaddhou - and we will even spend a night under the stars in the Sahara Desert! Impressions of Jordan 2019
Our first trip to Japan is also the first trip lead by someone other than Steve: photographer Jamie Marshall. This exciting itinerary takes in many of the highlights of this fascinating country, as well as a few hidden gems. We will visit historic Kyoto, Hiroshima as well as vibrant Yokyo. Photographically we will include many ancient temples, a forest monastery, reflected views of Mount Fuji, the famous floating gate at Itsukushima and the Orange gates at Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine. Impressions of Laos 2019
Laos is arguably the most entrancing country in South East Asia. Laid back and relaxed, they don't call the national currency the kip for nothing! This unique visits the highlights of this incredible country, from the haunting Plain of Jars in the North, past the soaring karst scenery of Vang Vieng and the Khmer ruins at Champassak, to the sprawling 4000 islands at Si Phan Don. We also spend time in the capital, Vientiane as well as witness the monks processions at the ancient capital of Luang Prabang. To see more click here.
assignment: Holi 2020
The first of our new series of assignment: tours will see us returning to the vibrant and colourful Indian festival of Holi. Our assignment: tours will emulate the way that a professional photographer would approach a commission. They will be hard work, and in the case of Holi, crowded and messy, but will represent a great way to approach a particular festival or place. As well as covering Holi in incredible depth, we will also look for tigers in Ranthambore and photograph the Taj Mahal at sunrise and sunset. To see more click here.
