Last chance to join us in Jordan

Dear [Name,fallback=],

The Summer is always slow in the travel industry: when people are enjoying the sunshine at home, they seldom think about booking holidays to warmer climes. Combined with the political uncertainty in the UK, then things have just dragged by. It has taken a lot of work to get to this point, but all of my scheduled trips are now confirmed, meaning that you can book with the confidence that thay will go ahead. Deadlines are looming though: with each tour we have a date when we have to release unsold rooms, and with our trip to Jordan this is just in twelve days time!

So bear in mind if you are considering joining us in Jordan, that to guarantee a place you will have to book before the 20 August!

At the moment, we have three great destinations available: to Jordan and Laos in 2019, and two departures to Namibia at the end of next year.

If you come along on any of these tours, then not only will you learn more about travel photography and come home with more great photographs than you ever thought possible; you will also enjoy engaging with the country and have a fantastically enjoyable time! As someone has said about my tours in the past:

"Your love of photography and travel is infectious and I can honestly say I have never laughed or learnt so much on a holiday before!"

Impressions of Jordan

Nothing can truly prepare you for the breathtaking splendour of walking down the winding siq on the way to the ruins of the great lost city of Petra in Jordan. A deep, narrow gorge through the solid rock, it leads for over a kilometre, and at some points is just a few metres wide. This was the main, and most atmospheric access to the city of the Nabateans. You will be walking in history: passing traders brought camel trains down the siq and the Romans marched down its length to take over the city. The first glimpse of the famous Treasury through a gap in the rock has amazed people for millennia!

Jordan is about far more than Petra though, and on this trip you will get to swim in the Red Sea, float in the Dead Sea, and wander through one of the best preserved Roman Cities in the Middle East. We will also explore the vast desert of Wadi Rum, and see a whole host of other incredible places.

The last guaranteed booking date for Impressions of Jordan is by the 20 August 2019. After this date we will have released any unsold rooms, and the tour will be officically on request, meaning that bookings made after that date will depend on us being able to rebook any rooms. The only way to make sure that you can join us though is to book before that date!

Impressions of Jordan departs from Amman on the 22 October 2019 for 11 days, and costs from 1795 per person based on twinshare. To see all of the fantastic places we visit on this trip, check out the full itinerary here, or you can find the booking form here.

Impressions of Laos

The city of Luang Prabang is one of the undisputed highlights in any traveller's Asia itinerary. A charming mix of beautiful monasteries (Wats) and colonial architecture; the long lines of Buddhist monks that head out at dawn to collect alms from the faithful, are one of the must-see sights of the country.

We visit many other parts of the country that other tours simply don't reach, including the incredible Plain of Jars in the remote North East and the sprawling collection of islands in the South of the country known as Si Phan Don.

The best thing about Laos though are the people that you will encounter, from the hilltribes in the North, down to ethnic Khmers in the South: Lao people are warm and welcoming, calm and friendly, and will make you long to return to this hidden gem of Asia.

Impressions of Laos departs from Luang Prabang on the 27 November 2019 for 14 days, and costs from 1995 per person based on twinshare. A single supplement option is also available. At the moment, we have only four places left on this trip. You can see all of the other fantastic places that we visit on the full itinerary here, or you can find the booking form here.

Impressions of Namibia

Even with more than a year to go, our twin trips to Namibia at the end of 2020 are already more than half full, and as the summer slowdown passes, we are hoping that they will fill up in the next few months.

Although the undoubted highlights of any trip to Namibia are the soaring sand dunes of Sosussvlei in the Namib Desert, as well as the incredible wildlife in the Etosha National Park, we also visit more stunning and lesser visited places in the country. This includes the deserted ghost town of Kolmanskop, the atmospheric Quiver Tree Forest and the massive Cape Cross Seal Colony on the Skeleton Coast. We also get to photograph the Himba people in the North of the country, and search for the rare Desert Elephant.

We have two dates organised for Impressions of Namibia: departing Windhoek on the 23 September and 14 October, each for 15 days. The first trip is led by Steve Davey; the second trip by photographer Jamie Marshall. The cost is from 3995 per person based on twinshare. Already half of the places on these trips have already been booked.
