Not everyone has the time or money to travel overseas to learn photography so we are in the process of putting together an extensive range of photography courses, based in the West Country.
I moved into this part of the World a couple of years ago, and since have been exploring and photographing as much as posisble. As well as the incredible and photogenic places on my doorstep, such as the Somerset Levels, Avalon Marshes or Glastonbury, I can be photographing Stonehenge or virtually anywhere on the Dorset Coast in less than an hour. The remote beauty of the Quantock Hills or Exmoor National Park are about an hour away, with the classicly photogenic Corfe Castle and the stunning wilds of Dartmoor a little bit further away.
The current Covid crisis has put plans for scheduled courses on hold, but we are still able to run bespoke courses for smaller groups of people. These can be tailor made to suit your interests, areas where you want to develop further, or even some of the places that you want to photograph. You can see some of the amazingly photogenic places in the local area below.
We are also able to offer private Lightroom courses at our base in Somerset. These intensive day courses can be combined with photographing some of the local area, incorporated as part of an intensive two or three day course, or run as a completely stand alone intensive workshop.
1 to 1 photography courses
We can organise bespoke photography courses, where Steve will take you around a select group of photographic locations in the West Country, and guide you through getting the best photographs. In the process you will learn more about many more advanced techniques on your camera. This is a perfect opportunity to see more of this stunning part of the country, learn some of the photographic techniques used by professional photographers and benefit from some individual tuition and encouragement.

Lightroom is a remarkably powerful and creative tool for processing your RAW files, and when combined with Adobe Photoshop it opens up a whole new world of creativity. As well as being able to process pictures into different artistic styles, you can master the techniques to convert images to black and white, whilst retaining the same creativity that used to be enjoyed with a black and white darkroom. You can learn how to make localised changes, and even change the colours and the look and feel of an image with the new grading function.
