Vietnam is an incredibly varied country. In places it is traditional, with colourful hilltribes and workers in conical hats, but also with a number of huge and bustling cities. Rich in history and stunning scenery; our carefully selected itinerary fits an incredible amount into this two week itinerary, and includes some truly out of the way places that you would struggle to visit on your own.

Our adventure starts in the relatively relaxed city of Hanoi in the North, where we get to explore the Old Town, and photograph the trades that happen on the streets. We also get to explore the stunning scenery around Ninh Binh before catching a night train to the hilly north to photograph a number of the colourful hilltribes that live in the area. We have scheduled our trip to visit two hilltribe markets, where we will be able to photograph a number of different peoples in their traditional clothes.

After another sleeper train we proceed directly to Halong Bay where we get to enjoy a relaxing cruise amongst the stunning limestone outcrops, and photograph the locals who live and fish in the region.

To maximise our time, we then fly to Hoi An. This charming town is a highlight of any trip to Vietnam, and we have opted to spend a good amount of time here. This allow us to explore the town, and markets, as well as heading out to the miles of unspoiled beaches nearby.

From Hanoi, we fly to Ho Chi Minh City - formerly Saigon. Brash and bustling, HCM is a terrific contrast to the more reserved city of Hanoi in the north. One of the highlights is the vast Ben Tranh market, which epitomises the character of the city.

To the south of the city, lies the Mekong Delta, where the mighty Mekong River flows into the South China Sea. Here we will take to the waterways of the delta, as well as exploring some of the traditional villages and local floating markets of the region, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City and the end of our trip.

We have radically changed our teaching schedules on our trips; and will be setting setting more projects and providing opportunities for more individual image critiques as well as our usual series of illustrated talks, group practical sessions and image reviews. Our aim is to help you to learn more about photography, and come back with more fantastic images than you ever thought possible, as well as engaging with this fascinating country!
