Better Travel Portraits with Steve Davey
When I speak to people about their trips, it is the locals who make the experience special for them: yet many struggle to come back with portraits that they are happy with.
Many people though get intimidated: by the people they are photographing, and the technical considerations and just end up stealing a shot from some middle distance. They just point and shoot, without any creativity then hurry away before they get confronted. They have a bad experience of the whole process, and crucially so does the person being photographed. It also means that they come away with disappointing pictures: with little or no feeling or empathy.
This exciting photography workshop will start with an illustrated presentation, outlining the technical and creative decisions you will need to make when shooting a portrait. By making these decisions in advance - before you approach someone to ask permission – you can be more relaxed and creative. We will also look at the best ways to approach people and how to go about the mechanics of shooting different styles of portrait.
We will then have extended practical session where you will get the chance to put these skills into practice, before having a critique sessions to see what everyone has achieved and make suggestions for improvement.

£85 if booked in conjunction with another course (or two people booking together)
